What is an NFT Avatar?

You might have heard the term NFT avatar before. To put it simply, an NFT avatar is a digitally generated image that is made in a cartoonish or pixelated fashion. An NFT avatar is usually in a profile picture format and features imagery of the characters usually from the shoulder up of the character.

How do NFTS work?

The NFTs are uniquely numbered, with multiple avatars of each design for sale. Collectible avatars are stored and managed in the Vault, a blockchain-powered wallet on Reddit where Redditors currently store their community points.

Can you use an NFT as a character?

In role-playing games, an NFT avatar can be used as your playable character, like DeFi Kingdoms, Thetan Arena or CryptoBlades. Some social media platforms, such as Twitter, allow users to use an NFT as a profile picture by connecting a digital wallet to the app.

How much does a NFT cost?

For instance, Visa purchased the Cryptopunk NFT "Digital avatar With Mohawk" for $150,000. Many other NFT avatar projects have also been well-received. Ten thousand Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs were sold within a day of their launch, while the Penguin NFT Club sold a Pudgy Penguin for $469,000.
